Bog Bodies
“I’d always thought it strange that people fell into bogs up to the 8th century and from the 14th century onwards, but never in the 12th century. But what I’ve heard lately is that the museums of England and Ireland have basements “full” of bog people, but no-one has bothered to write up their fragmentary textiles. (Makes me just want to go take
on a research project in archaeology).
