Okay – here’s a start – the terms are from the Middle High German Conceptual Database. It doesn’t give a definition to the words per se, you have to figure that out from a dictionary or from context, which can be somewhat time-consuming. I think creating a useful Middle High German to English (and the same for French) glossary could be a useful thing. Anyway, to pique interest here is a list of armour terms found from searching through about 30 (need to count them) literature texts from the 12th and 13th century. The list will need to be refined to cover only the 12th century. I do know what some of the words mean….
